Dan didn’t know his mom had left the beach house and told the Heating & A/C specialist he was still there.
She had said she had to leave for a few hours, but he would leave after the Heating & A/C specialist left.
She could have told Dan he was still there, and he would soon be done. Dan dressed and was getting ready to leave when he called out from the home office. He walked into the home office, and he was getting ready to call the police. When Dan saw the Heating & A/C specialist, he put his phone down and walked into the home office. He told him he thought he was gone, since mom had left. He explained she had told him he was still home and he should call out before leaving. He wanted to Dan the bill and an explanation of what he had done to the oil furnace. Dan thanked him for the paperwork and told him he had to leave. If he wasn’t out the door in the next fifteen minutes, he would be late for work, and the hospital didn’t love it when the nurses were late. Later that evening, Dan was working in the emergency room, when someone said the air conditioning wasn’t working. The air quality sucked without the Heating & A/C system working. He looked down the hall when someone said it was about time the Heating & A/C specialist got there. Dan saw the Heating & A/C specialist who was at his house earlier that day. He waved, and he waved back. Later that evening, they ate a meal together. It was nice to see him again when I had time to sit and chat.
