We planned an elaborate Thanksgiving supper for our fiance’s family.
It was the first meal we cooked with or without her help, and it was the first time they were going to meet us.
We wanted to make the best first impression ever, so they would not believe our fiance was marrying beneath her. We had all the ingredients to make our meal, and our recipes were pasted on the refrigerator, in the order in which we were going to cook. We were getting ready to cook, when we heard a weird noise. The next thing we heard was silence. We looked at her, and she looked at us. The oil furnace had quit working. How could we have a Thanksgiving supper if there was no heat in the house? We were about ready to cry when she told us not to worry. She got into her jeans and old t-shirt, and headed into the basement. She told us we could kiss the Heating and Air Conditioning expert as payment for saving the holiday. We don’t know what we would have done if our fiance wasn’t an Heating and Air Conditioning expert. Our supper would have been ruined. Two hours later, the oil furnace was running, and supper was cooking. She was pleased with the smells coming from the living room when she came in the door. We were going to take a shower before her family arrived, however they were there 2 hours early. We laughed and opened the door. She looked just like her dad, and her Dad gave her a hug. He sniffed the air and said everything smelled so good, and provided her help while taking a shower.
