We phoned the heating and air conditioning company

We phoned the Heating and Air Conditioning company and asked if they could tell us what’s wrong with the oil furnace? The woman laughed, and then she said that was what the Heating and Air Conditioning tech was for.

We took a breath and said that wasn’t what we meant to say.

We wanted to know if they had Heating and Air Conditioning tech available that could tell us what’s wrong with the oil furnace. She said they had 2 that were on the road, but neither were close to our house. If we didn’t mind waiting an hour, she had another Heating and Air Conditioning tech who would be on duty, and she could send her to the lake house directly. We thanked her, and provided her with all the information so the Heating and Air Conditioning tech would get to where we lived, including full names and address. When the Heating and Air Conditioning tech arrived, she told us she was there to diagnose our oil furnace, and the dispatcher had told her this was her first job for the day. We showed her to the oil furnace room, and we told her the oil furnace would not turn on. She said it wasn’t freezing outside, and maybe the temperature control temperature was set too low to trigger the oil furnace turning on. We told her we knew nothing about oil furnaces, and if she could do anything to get some heat in the house, we would be glad. She went downstairs and looked at the oil furnace. She told us she found the problem. She didn’t know why, but the breaker switch had flipped, and the oil furnace wasn’t getting any power. She fixed the breaker and said everything should work well now.
