I still remember all our anxiety when the entire world went into lockdown three years ago when COVID-19 hit.
I had just given birth, and my husband, an essential worker, was afraid he would bring the disease home back to us.
He moved away from home for a month because he feared compromising our indoor air quality, and we had an infant to keep alive. During a home service duct cleaning service from an HVAC technician from the local HVAC company, I had to ask if there were any way the air quality in our house would be improved beyond what we achieved with the HVAC equipment we had and frequent air filter changes. The HVAC professional was very patient and helpful in explaining how an air purification system works and how it would help meet our indoor air purification help, including the viruses. However, it wouldn’t mean that we’d not get sick at all. It sounded like a whole home air purification system would be a great idea to get my husband to come back home. We bought an air purification unit from the local business and had a technician come to install it for us. My husband returned home, and while we got sick, it took a long while for us to catch anything nasty. Now that I have interacted with more people, I have found more about the smart HVAC option and the inbuilt air purification system, which sounds like the best upgrade for when we finally need to replace our old heating and cooling equipment. The dirt in our ducts has also become less than before, and maintaining the purifier is such an easy task.
