That was the amazing woman who had raised Luke, and she continues to be a mentor now that he is an adult. His wife was the one who suggested the name and Luke fell even more in love with her. Honestly, he always feels like the luckiest man in the world and isn’t sure how she said yes to him. A few years ago, Luke got a work order for heating repair in a lovely part of town. He went to the job site at 9 am, and the most beautiful woman opened the door. She was on the phone and ushered Luke to come in. He explained he was from the HVAC business when she greeted him after ending the call. Mary smiled at him and directed Luke to her basement where he’d locate the faulty unit. The house felt chilly and she had on sweatpants, a hoodie and thick socks, so he knew the furnace had failed. Luke was done in an hour and had the furnace working again. After he’d placed his tools in his van, he turned back and asked her out. She surprised him by saying yes, and they went for dinner a few days later. It seems like so long ago, but Luke is always smitten with his now wife. On this day, he had to hurry home after he was done with an AC repair to be with them.
