My kids have been begging me for a movie area for the longest time.
They suggested the basement as the best place to turn into an epic movie theater.
This was a brilliant idea since there wasn’t much happening in the basement. We have a tool shed outback that we also use a storage area, so we haven’t kept any items in the basement. The only issue was I was busy with work. So, I kept postponing doing up the basement to turn it into a miniature movie theater. We had a plan to add a huge TV, a comfy L-shaped sofa, and a popcorn maker. I also wanted to paint the walls, make the space dump-proof and also figure out the AC. We live in the south, and summers are long and hot, so having an AC in the basement was crucial. Eventually, the pandemic came and I found myself with lots of time when working from home. My kids were on my neck and I got a few tools from the shed. I even had the right paint and materials to use, just not the time. However, that was no longer an excuse and I proceeded to renovate the space. Then, I went to a website for this heating and cooling business to check out the best cooling options for the basement. I’d handle the cooling first, then later sort out how to heat the space on a cool evening. Perhaps a space heater would work for that. Anyway, I ended up ordering a ductless AC for the basement and the movie theater was open for business.
