Adding a dehumidifier would prevent mold and mildew growth

The weather isn’t the same anymore and I believe climate change is the reason.

Recently, we had the most brutal summers I have ever witnessed.

The air was always so hot that it was hard even to leave the house and drive to the beach. We had to wait until things cooled down to go on vacation. This is after a family-friend called with news that they were flying back home. It had been too hot where they went and they never left their rooms. My partner and I chose to head for a small summer vacation with the kids last August when the weather was cooler. Previously, we’d be off in June, but we plan on changing the routine. We’ve also been thinking about different ways to make our home more summer-proof since the humidity levels were also insane. At one point the house got so humid that we bought a dehumidifier to sort of balance the equation. We also spoke with an area HVAC expert about our concerns and she agreed on getting a dehumidifier. The issue with humidity is it not only makes a house uncomfortable to stay in, but also affects it structurally. High humidity levels always lead to issues like mold and mildew growth which is bad for our health. I can only imagine the effect of mold and mildew spores on our indoor air quality. Adding the dehumidifier was a good option, and we are looking into a whole-home dehumidifier before next summer. It’s not cheap to install a whole-home dehumidifier, but it’s a worthy investment that will protect our health and home.
