My dad finally bought a modern cooling unit for his cottage

My dad finally upgraded his cooling unit for his cottage.

It has been many months since he experienced concerns with it. Apparently, the unit had a leak and his Heating, Ventilation & A/C serviceman would temporarily repair the issue, however mentioned to my dad over and over again that the unit should be upgraded. My dad isn’t the type of person to purchase modern components or equipment, he will use his devices to the point where they are falling apart. And I feel he wanted to do that with his cooling unit, wait until it was completely broken down before he made any attempts to upgrade it. Ever since I was a child, I remember him being that way. We had an old window cooling unit, and it broke down all the time. Each time it broke down, my dad would pull the unit apart and repair it. The unit needed to be upgraded, although he wanted to repair it instead. Anyway, the old a/c unit at my dad’s home was not a heat pump as it only offered air conditioning. He has a separate heating system that is the source of heat for his cottage. This means that the cooling unit didn’t cost as much as the conventional Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit that comes with both heating and cooling capabilities. In fact, the unit that he bought for his house was below $4,000. Now that he has upgraded his old cooling unit, with respected use and care, the modern unit should last him at least 20 years, which is more than the official lifespan of a central air conditioner unit.
