I went back to my hometown to visit my niece that I haven’t seen in over 12 years.
Ever since I moved away, I just didn’t look back.
I liked living in the area, however my heart belonged somewhere else and so I left and found that other location that suited my desires. While going to see my niece, various of my childhood memories came flooding back. For instance, there was a lovely creek near their house and every Summer, we swam in the creek to cool off. Back then, we didn’t have air conditioning, so for us the creek was our only way to stay cool while in the moderate Summer months. Now that we are older, having an air conditioner is a luxury that I can’t live without. So, I was glad when my niece told me that the home has window a/cs installed in some of the rooms. Although it’s not a central air conditioner it’s better than nothing, so I will be ok as long as the window a/cs labor officially. Personally, I’m used to having a Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit in my home. But the houses in my hometown are so old that most of them do not have Heating, Ventilation and A/C units installed. They do not have ductwork because those renovations would be too costly for most of the folks in the area. However, they can use a ductless mini split system instead of the window units. So, before leaving, I ordered a used ductless AC for my niece’s home. It arrived after I left. My niece contacted me after they got the unit, and she loves the unit. It’s the least I could have done for her.
