Now that the pandemic is over, not many of us are thinking about indoor air quality.
- In fact, I’ve not given it a second thought in quite a while.
Well, that’s not the case for my associate Lisa who is obsessed with making sure that she is breathing in the best air possible. During the height of the pandemic, she even added a whole house air purification system inside her Heating, Ventilation & A/C unit. It gave her peace of mind and made her feel safer inside her own space. I was less vigilant about the indoor air quality in my home. In fact, I did nothing different than what I’d normally do while in the pandemic. I made sure that my AC filter was clean and changed it when it became dirty. I also made sure that my Heating, Ventilation & A/C unit was inspected, and I cleaned and vacuumed my house and the a/c vents. I also opened up some windows to allow some fresh air from outside to come in. And these easy things were able to maintain a good indoor air quality inside my house. I’m not against installing a whole house air purification system nor am I against purchasing media air cleaners either. I think that if a whole house air purification system makes someone feel safer, then they should by all means use it. Perhaps these air purification systems will become useful again if/when my pal and I have another pandemic. My hope is that my pal and I will never have to go through something like that again, however it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?
