During the sizable storms last monthwe ran into a problem that my pal and I never had before. The rains, winds plus storm surge sent a foot of water rushing into my basement. My associate and I had been warned that this may happen so my pal and I moved all of the furniture plus such upstairs. Unluckyly, there are several things that can not be moved. Those things are some of the most fancy things that my pal and I own. Our boiler, boiling water tank, plus the indoor device for the air conditioner are all installed down there. The floodwaters surrounded them plus they sat with a foot of water for two days. When my pal and I finally got the water pumped out I knew that I needed to call my Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor to come check things out. Before my pal and I could turn the power back on I wanted to make sure that it was safe to do so. My associate and I weren’t the only ones with these complications so it took another two days before a repair serviceman could come out. By that time, the whole basement smelled of musty old rags. The drywall had been detached up to the water line but the appliances down there still held water inside them. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C serviceman didn’t have enjoyable news. He said that even if my pal and I were able to dry the systems out, my pal and I should consider replacing them because of the damage from water plus debris that would have gotten inside during the flood. I was happy that my pal and I had an emergency fund set aside but not cheerful that I needed to spend it all at once.
