Sleepy in the heat

Many years ago my buddy and I lived in the southwest portion of the Unitied States.

  • Now, if you are respected with this region, daytime hot and cold temperatures can reach well into the hundreds and if you don’t have any access to A/C, it is down right miserable.

My friend and I were only in our early 20’s so didn’t have much in the way of currency so my buddy and I tried to come up with ways to vacation cheaply. My partner came up with the bright idea to go camping, in a tent, out in the desert. Now, they say, it’s a dry heat! Dry or not, when the sunlight came up, it heated up fast. Our only way of surviving the trip was to sleep while in the heat of the day in the shade of the tent, and stay up at evening when it was cool. My friend and I went evening fishing and sat around a campfire with friends. That was our first, and last trip like that and now, years later, my buddy and I feel our comfort is just as important as the locale my buddy and I are heading on vacation. The afternoons of sleeping in a tent without the benefit of a nice Heating, Ventilation and A/C system are long gone. In fact, my idea of a vacation now usually involves a house or rental home that has every amenity that I could ask for. If the hot and cold temperatures are too high, I want to turn on the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system and cool it down. The same goes if my buddy and I plan a skiing trip in the winter. There has to be a nice furnace in the lodge. Many things change as my buddy and I age, my buddy and I love the smaller things in life over the over the top adventures. My friend and I are both content to appreciate each other’s supplier, relax in comfort, and take in a show or something.
