During the large storms last weekwe ran into a complication that my pal and I never had before. The rains, winds and storm surge sent a foot of water rushing into my basement. My friend and I had been warned that this may happen so my pal and I moved all of the furniture and such upstairs. Unluckyly, there are various things that can not be moved. Those things are some of the most high-priced things that my pal and I own. Our boiler, sizzling water tank, and the indoor component for the air conditioning are all installed down there. The floodwaters surrounded them and they sat with a foot of water for two afternoons. When my pal and I finally got the water pumped out I knew that I needed to call my Heating and Air Conditioning supplier to come check things out. Before my pal and I could turn the power back on I wanted to make sure that it was safe to do so. My friend and I weren’t the only ones with these concerns so it took another two afternoons before a service business could come out. By that time, the whole basement smelled of musty old rags. The drywall had been detached up to the water line but the appliances down there still held water inside them. The Heating and Air Conditioning business didn’t have good news. He said that even if my pal and I were able to dry the systems out, my pal and I should consider replacing them because of the harm from water and debris that would have gotten inside during the flood. I was cheerful that my pal and I had an emergency fund set aside but not cheerful that I needed to spend it all at once.
