Considering an upgrade

When my sister convinced us to move to part I had only one reservation, I hate humidity! When we would go there for visits we consistently made sure to do so during cooler months and even then it was too damp outside for me.

I once read that the optimal humidity level for most people’s comfort is around 50%, the levels in her part hover around 90% year round, then even when it is cooler outside I still feel the dampness in the air.

At any rate, we moved down to be closer to her and her family about six months ago. My associate and I bought a charming little property and I have come to appreciate kneeling outside on cooler afternoons. However, I want the inside of my property to be cool and dry all the time. The new air conditioner helps with this however I still feel that the moisture level could be lower, my hubby says that the only way to eliminate the damp feeling is upgrade our Heating and Air Conditioning system and have a dehumidifier installed on the system. Thankfully we have forced air and this will not be too costly of an addition. I cringe each time I assume of those people who use hot water heat and have only portable units to cool off the house. In my opinion they have to be agitated most of the time. Many folks in the area, who grew up here, don’t seem to even notice the muggy air. I can’t see myself ever being one of those types of people. Maybe we should have relocated to the Southwest instead of the Southeast.
