Swapped out my mom’s HVAC unit

I called the local HVAC company and made an appointment for a Friday.

My sister rarely calls me at the office so I knew that something was up. I was pretty sure mom was okay since she had texted me good morning earlier. This is so my mom. I’m 50 years old and she’s 76 but she still likes to say good morning every, single day. Honestly, I kind of dig it. But sitting inside the zone controlled HVAC of my office answering a call from my sister made me start to stress sweat. Thankfully, everyone was fine. My sister lives not too far from my mom while I live nearly a thousand miles away. The nature of the call was to address the heating and cooling situation at mom’s. She is still in the little house that she moved to after my sister and I went off to college. It’s a small, 2 bedroom with central air conditioning. But the HVAC equipment is at least 30 years old. I had tried before to get her to let me upgrade the residential HVAC to no avail. She’s weird like that when it comes to us helping her out. So my sister was telling me that she thought the heat pump had finally died but mom wasn’t doing anything about it. That meant a trip to see mom and get this thing done. There was no way my mom was going through the Summer without air conditioning. I called the local HVAC company and made an appointment for a Friday. I showed up on a Thursday and we went together to talk with the HVAC professionals. Looks like mom will be getting a ductless multi split system as the ductwork in her house is no good either. But ductless heat pumps are awesome and she’ll have air conditioning.
