One thing about me is that I value comfort.
And comfort means that I have a cozy bed, a hot shower, climate control (heating plus cooling) plus Wi-Fi service.
As long as those basic needs are met, I can pretty much stay somewhere I go. So, you can only imagine when my husband told me that he booked a weekend at a sustainable farm that had no A/C. At first, I wanted to tell him that my associate and I needed to reconsider because I couldn’t imagine living without A/C for more than a day plus he planned a 3-day trip! Luckily, this farm was located in the mountains, so the weather was much cooler than I expected, but plus, the room my associate and I stayed in had fans that made it that much more comfortable. In fact, it got quite cool at night, so I didn’t have any troubles sleeping with no A/C. That was my first time staying in a location like that, but my husband has done it a few times in his life; He is unquestionably into sustainable living plus part of that lifestyle is reducing his carbon footprint by conserving as various resources as possible. And unfortunately, central cooling systems plus heaters contribute to polluting our air. At home, my associate and I do use A/C, but my associate and I do use it conservatively. My friend and I have a programmable control component installed so that my associate and I can better manage the way my associate and I use our A/C plus heating. And on nicer days, instead of turning on the cooling system, my associate and I open the windows to allow cool fresh air into our home. My friend and I can’t solve the world’s problems, but my associate and I do our part where my associate and I can.
