Some weeks ago, I was busy with my yearly HVAC maintenance with my Heating, Ventilation and A/C provider.
Typically, I schedule the maintenance on the weekends or on one of my nights off, but because I heard a different noise coming from my HVAC unit, I decided to schedule repair right away.
I made the appointment for 8 a.m. thinking that the repair would last for 1 to 2 hours, which is normal for HVAC maintenance. I had a meeting at 11 am with someone from the west coast that I needed to facilitate. So, I was hoping that the repair expert would be gone by then. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The tech showed up a little after 10 a.m., which was a bit of an inconvenience. But he was kind and he apologized for his delay as he didn’t anticipate the traffic on my side of the neighborhood that morning. And yes, the traffic is usually awful because of all the people traveling to work. Anyway, when he began the service, I mentioned that I had a video call at 11 am that I needed to be on. I asked the serviceman how long the repair would take, and he assured me that he would be done before noon. Well, as mentioned, that was not the case. In fact, the repair call lasted for almost 4 hours, and I had to pause my meeting a couple of times to talk to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C serviceman. He apologized for the repair call running longer than expected although he wanted to make sure that the unit was functioning officially. And though I was quite frazzled trying to facilitate both my meeting and the HVAC serviceman, everything worked out well in the end.
