There are squirrels in the attic again, and I assume they have burrowed a hole in the roofing material anywhere; For the record, I hate squirrels; They are worse than rats in my opinion, because at least rats are stupid and can be trapped, then squirrels are smarter, stronger, faster, and undoubtedly hard to kill. They have been a large problem in this neighborhood for years, but this is the first time they have gotten into my house, and i assume I will require some kind of roof repair or service, but before I call in the experts and start spending tons of currency I have to see for myself. I am not a roofing expert, and have a minor fear of heights, so I don’t like getting up on top of the home unless it’s particularly necessary… As I walked around on my roofing I was undoubtedly careful with every step I made. Some of the shingles were slipping, and a few of the support beams seemed crooked, so I knew I required major roof repair, and possibly a full replacement. I found that the squirrels had been getting in through a rotten, exposed plywood board, so my next step was to call the roofing supplier immediately. I knew how the critters were getting inside, although I couldn’t call the pest control supplier until after the roofing supplier had patched that hole. The whole process took about two weeks, although I must say my roof replacement is top of the line, and I don’t expect to have any more problems with squirrels.
