I love my job as a graphic designer.
I work on a contract basis and help people succeed with creative websites. One area that I needed to improve was getting people to understand how the internet and search engines worked. Most small business owners think that if they pay for a website, they will automatically be found when someone searches for them. This is not the case. You must streamline your keywords, decided if you want to pay a annual fee for search services, or use a PPC or Pay Per Click system. I can build the best site that is easy to navigate, attractive, and informative, but, if you don’t have a way to get it out there, you have paid me for nothing. As an example, if you own a company that specializes in stained glass repair, you may want to use words like, Glass, repair, vintage, colored, or stained. This way, people who are searching for a windshield repair will be less likely to go to your site. Each person can pay for services that will help boost their rating on search engines too. There is a format to submit your site to places like, Google, Yahoo, or Bing and each time you do so, it can help you move up the ladder. The whole process is time consuming and can be confusing. For this reason they can also pay me to do these things for them on a monthly basis. For all of these reasons I really do love my job. I work from a home office and can easily pay my bills by helping out companies and I learn a lot about the smaller businesses in my area too.
