Nancy planned an elaborate Thanksgiving lunch for her fiance’s family.
It was the first meal she cooked with or without his help, and it was the first time they were going to meet her.
She wanted to make the best first impression ever, so they would not know her fiance was marrying beneath him. Nancy had all the ingredients to make her meal, and her recipes were pasted on the refrigerator, in the order in which she was going to cook. Nancy was getting ready to cook, when she heard an odd noise. The next thing she heard was silence. Nancy looked at him, and he looked at her. The oil furnace had quit working. How could they have a Thanksgiving lunch if there was no heat in the house? Nancy was about ready to cry when her fiance told her not to worry. He got into his jeans and old t-shirt, and headed into the basement. He told her she could kiss the Heating & A/C specialist as payment for saving the holiday. Nancy doesn’t know what she would have done if her fiance wasn’t an Heating & A/C specialist. Their lunch would have been ruined. Two hours later, the oil furnace was running, and lunch was cooking. Paul was content with the smells coming from the home office when he came in the door. They were going to take a shower before his family arrived, but they were there two hours early. They laughed and opened the door. Paul looked just like his mom, and his mom gave him a hug. She sniffed the air and said everything smelled so good, and provided his help while Nancy took a shower.
