Driving a college bus for a living can be quite challenging at times & rewarding at others.
- I honestly appreciate my job, & I wouldn’t trade it for any other, but there are mornings that are a bit more difficult than others! Last week, I had many of those more difficult mornings.
The first thing that happened was that my bus started making odd noises, so I called the mechanic & tried to explain to him the sounds & where they were coming from. He told me that I shouldn’t drive the bus any further, so I had to have another bus driver come pick up my kids with his bus, & almost everyone was late getting condo which I definitely heard about from their parents for the following week. It was quite aggravating. The second & most irritating thing that happened was the a/c stopped working on my bus. It was definitely irritated. Not only was I trying to keep myself from passing out from heat exhaustion as I was driving down the road, I also had to keep the kids glad which was nearly impossible because they were so hot & irritated. That felt like the longest bus run of my life, & I didn’t feel it would ever end. The mechanic at the bus garage said he had fixed the AC, but the following afternoon I had some more troubles with it. The a/c troubles made last yearvery tough, however I got through it, & I just hope that next week won’t be as bad.
