When my husband and I first got married and started looking for a house to buy, my only requests were that the house had a nice, big kitchen and that it had a wood stove . I have always liked the thought of having a wood burning stove. To me, it was romantic and rustic. I love the old farmhouse look, and having a wood stove would make it that much more authentic. Well, we had trouble finding a house that had both a big kitchen and a wood stove, so I ended up having to pick between the two, and I chose the more practical thing which was the kitchen. We bought our home about fifteen years ago, and I still love it so much. I had been periodically hinting to my husband that I still really wanted a wood stove. On my fortieth birthday, my husband bought me a wood stove and had it installed in the living room. I can only imagine how much work he went through to do all of that, but I love it! We have been using it for about a week now, and it’s wonderful! It puts off a lot of heat, and the smell of the burning wood fills the house with the most wonderful aroma. I don’t have to do any of the work to keep the stove burning throughout the day. My husband and sons cut the wood for me, and whoever is home at the time will fill the stove when needed. I am sort of afraid of putting more wood in it, but I made sure to have my sons teach me how just in case I happen to be home alone sometime when wood needs to be added.
