I’ve seen a lot of house in my area get remodeled in the past six months. I was rather curious why it seemed like everyone was remodeling their houses at the same time. A Ton of Cooling
I’m the type of person that enjoys doing activities outside. Even if it’s raining out I will dress to the weather to make sure I can still enjoy the activity. One activity that I really like doing is running. Running is great for me, it’s a big stress reliever and allows me to unwind after… Continue reading A Ton of Cooling
Warm and cozy game day
We are a football family for sure! In fact we often turn down invites to family functions if they are happening on a Sunday because we don’t want to miss the game. We dress up in all of our game gear, prepare all the snacks and buy our favorite beverages so that we can enjoy… Continue reading Warm and cozy game day
Considering an upgrade
When my sister convinced us to move to area I had only one reservation, I hate humidity! When we would go there for visits we always made sure to do so during cooler months and even then it was too damp outside for me. I once read that the optimal humidity level for most people’s… Continue reading Considering an upgrade

Constant barking is driving me nuts
Around the middle of May we bought a new puppy. I should say we adopted it from a local shelter but it cost as much as one from a breeder so I view it as a purchase. Roxey is a small poodle mix and is smart as a whip most of the time. The kids… Continue reading Constant barking is driving me nuts

Rusty pipes led to my boiler’s demise
I can’t believe that I am in the process of replacing my boiler again. I say again, because I just bought a new boiler for the house about three years ago. We bought the house knowing that it needed some improvements and the boiler was one of the first things we did. I didn’t want… Continue reading Rusty pipes led to my boiler’s demise
Fuel choices can dictate what type of HVAC system you have
I grew up in the city where you have access to just about anything you want or need. Every type of store, activity, or restaurant was within five minutes of our house and usually within walking distance. Then, I met my husband and my whole world changed. He grew up on a farm and lived… Continue reading Fuel choices can dictate what type of HVAC system you have
Looking forward to waiting in the doctor’s office
Most people dread going to the doctor for one reason or another. In some cases it is the fear of finding out that something is really wrong, but, I think the main reason is the fact that you are left in the waiting room for far too long. Then, once you are in the exam… Continue reading Looking forward to waiting in the doctor’s office
I’ve seen a lot of apartment in my area get remodeled in the past six months. I was rather curious why it seemed like all the people was remodeling their houses at the same time. Through physical appearance, it’s apparent that the houses are much older and could use some fixing up. Most of the houses are painted, and many apartment owners have resulted in purchasing colored siding so they don’t have to paint their homes every two years. Yesterday I realized my buddy was doing much similar remodeling to her apartment like the rest of our other neighbors. I asked him what she was remodeling and why, since it seemed like there had been a trend. She told me that since many of the houses are older, that she decided to get new windows and roofs to improve her fuel and energy bills. She heard from numerous neighbors that their licensed Heating as well as Air Conditioning specialists pointed out that a lot of the homes in the area were losing a lot of energy due to aged roofing and poor insulation in windows and throughout the house. By installing high-efficiency products, it can save half a ton of cooling and a lot of energy throughout the year. Even though buying high-efficiency products can result investing more money, it can pay off in the long run. I took my neighbors insight into consideration. Since my apartment was just as aged as his, I figured that I should call my Heating as well as Air Conditioning specialist and have him check the efficiency rating and insulation throughout my home. I want to save money and energy in my home and not add unnecessary stress or loads onto my Heating as well as Air Conditioning equipment.
