Rusty pipes led to my boiler’s demise

I can’t believe that I am in the process of replacing my boiler again.

I say again, because I just bought a new boiler for the house about three years ago. We bought the house knowing that it needed some improvements and the boiler was one of the first things we did. I didn’t want to leave our comfort to chance and the old boiler was over thirty years old. When we decided to replace it we should have replaced the plumbing too. We wanted to save money so we cut corners on that part. Now, the rust and deposit build up in those old pipes have caused significant damage to the new boiler. The new unit is more powerful and due to the pressure of the warm water it was circulating through the system it had broken the residue free and it had built up in the return tank. From there it caused damage to the new unit and now I am replacing it. The HVAC dealer that sold me the new unit had warned me of this but I decided that I wanted to save the money for something else. Now, I am paying that and more to make the repairs once again. Our HVAC dealer has contracted with a certified plumber to make sure that there is no chance of this happening again. If you are in need of a new HVAC system make sure you listen to the advice of a trusted HVAC dealer when they advise you to install it properly the first time. I know I will from now on.
